Two more cinemas on board!

As ever, our domestic cinemas are being hugely supportive of our film: we're thrilled to welcome the Lighthouse Cinema, Petone and Circus Cinema, Martinborough. We now have 43 cinemas showing our film! While it's a lot of work distributing your own film, it's always informative to talk to the people who actually make a living from screening films to audiences and hear their observations about what sort of films work and why. Tim at Circus even said to me, "You would be the first distributor to ask what we [cinema owners] think. Most are trying to sell you a film and won't give you their honest opinion. I've been talked into a few that have been complete disasters - now I do my research and check reviews. So your approach is unique." This highlights that there's room for much better connection between filmmakers and their audiences!

Non-artist Torchlight supporters have donated art works to next weeks art auction including pieces by Ralph Hotere, Vivian Lynn, Denys Watkins, Jane Zusters and Barry Cleavin. The auction will be held at the Island Bay Film Studio on Monday 15th Feburary. Follow the link for more details and photos of the works on auction.
